3 Simple DIY Natural & Nourishing Lip Balms for The Winter Season


Lip balms are winter must-haves when it comes to protecting the lips from getting cracked and chapped due to the harsh winter winds and the dry air. For this reason, you should always keep some lip balm handy to moisturize and heal your lips. You don’t need to spend a fortune to find the perfect lip balm instead you can follow these simple DIY tasty and nourishing lip balm recipes at home to keep your lips hydrated and healthy.


1. Lip-plumping Cinnamon lip balm Cinnamon has a warming property that makes your lips plump and fuller. It also makes the lip balm delicious and fragrant with a nude color tint.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon Beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • 2 teaspoon Petroleum Jelly
  • 2 Vitamin E capsules
  • ½ teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions: In a small pan, pour water and keep over medium heat. Place an oven-safe bowl in the pan for double boiling. Make sure that the water is below the level of the bowl and doesn’t enter the bowl. Add beeswax, coconut oil, and petroleum jelly to the bowl and heat until it melts, stirring every now and again. When it is melted, remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the contents of vitamin E capsules, honey, and cinnamon. Pour into little containers. Let it cool before use.

2. Chai Spiced Lip Balm For all the Chai-lovers out there, we have this delicious Chai flavored concoction which has the beautiful aromas and taste of your favorite Chai as well as nourishes and hydrates your lips.


Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoon castor oil
  • 5 tablespoon beeswax
  • 8 drops vanilla essential oil
  • 2 drops ginger essential oil
  • ½ teaspoon crushed cloves
  • 1 teaspoon crushed cinnamon stick

Directions: In a small pan, pour water and keep over medium heat. Place an oven-safe bowl in the pan for double boiling. Add castor oil and the crushed cloves and cinnamon into the bowl and gently heat them in the oil in your water bath, ensuring no water gets into your oil. Once the spices have infused the oil, strain it and again pour it in the same bowl. Then add beeswax to the bowl and heat until it melts, stirring every now and again. When it is melted, remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the contents of vitamin E capsules, vanilla oil, and ginger oil. Pour into little containers. Let it cool before use.


3. Chocolate Peppermint Lip Balm

This yummy lip balm is flavored with peppermint essential oil and cocoa powder for the chocolaty taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon grated beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon shea butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon cocoa butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 2 vitamin E capsules
  • 3 drops peppermint essential oil

Directions: In a small pan, pour water and keep over medium heat. Place an oven-safe bowl in the pan for double boiling. Make sure that the water is below the level of the bowl and doesn’t enter the bowl. Add beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter to the bowl and heat until it melts, stirring every now and again. When it is melted, remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the contents of vitamin E capsules, honey, peppermint oil and cocoa powder. Pour into little containers. Let it cool before use.
