Dry Fruits Modak
Total Cook Time : 40 minutes
Servings – 21 pcs
Ingredients:
10 Figs or Anjeer
8-10 Seedless Dates
1 Cup of Nuts – Almonds, Cashew, Pistachio, Walnuts, Peanuts or Nuts of Your Choice
1tsp Sesame Seeds
1tsp Chironji
1tsp Khus Khus
1/2 Chopped Dry Fruits of You choice – Raisins, Apricots
1tsp Cardamom Powder
1tsp Nutmeg Powder
2tsp Ghee
2tsp Dessicated Coconut
Instructions:
1. Soak figs and dates separately for two hours
2. Take all the nuts and grind them coarsely or roughly chop them by hand
3. Add 1tsp of ghee in a pan and roast the nuts and Keep them aside
4. In the same pan, add the sesame seeds, chironji, poppy seeds or khus khus and dessicated coconut. Roast them well
5. Take the soaked dates and fig. Grind them to a smooth paste in a blender
6. In the pan add 1tsp of ghee and also add the fig-dates paste. Saute it for 2mins
7. Now add the chopped dry fruits- raisins and apricots
8. Mix thoroughly and add the roasted nuts mix
9. Mix them all together in low flame so that they all well-infused
10. Now add the coconut and seeds mixture along with cardamom and nutmeg powder. Mix it.
11. Once the mixture thickens, turn off the flame
12. Take a modak-shaped mould and apply ghee on it. Put the mixture in the mould to give a perfect shape
13. Your Dry Fruit Modak is ready for the offering
